Samuel Peterson, a Level 4 SEE Enrollee, recently accepted a new position on the SEE Program as Communication Support within the Office of Small Business Program.  Before this change, Mr. Peterson worked for three years as a Program Analyst in the Office of Small and Disadvantaged Businesses. Working as an assistant to the Attorney Advisors at EPA, he rewrote the guidance manual, interpreted the impact of regulations on small business and drafted MOUs – memorandum of understanding – EPA and SBA and between EPA and USDOT.

In his new position, Mr. Peterson serves as a center point of contact for the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise. His main task is implementing a new rule for certifying programs for disadvantaged businesses. Mr. Peterson will also be drafting articles on EPA issues, analyzing reports, along with defining programs and solutions.

Mr. Peterson has a law degree from Cornell and a degree in political science from New York State University.  He became a contract specialist and worked in employee relations for various law firms in addition to work on documents for mergers and acquisitions.  That legal background made Mr. Peterson an obvious candidate for his new duties within the EPA SEE program.
