Data Management Specialist

Qualifications:

BA/BS Degree in Business, Accounting, Computers/Information Technology. OR Minimum of 5 year(s) of experience in providing support to data or budget process utilizing software such as Microsoft Access, Excel & Word.

  • Experience required with Windows, Facsimile, Copying Machine, MS Word, WordPerfect, MS Excel, MS Access
Duties:

Support the office in its management of data which includes tracking submission of quarterly reports, property profile forms, and entry of data into Brownfields Management System (BMS) by headquarters on a quarterly report basis.

  • Track submission of quarterly reports from the grantees.    10%
  • Review grant work plans and quarterly reports to identify sites requiring the submission of property profile forms. Track submission of property profile forms and review for completeness/accuracy. Make recommendations to the Project Officer.    30%
  • Review quarterly reports and property profile forms for key measure and GPRA target accomplishments. Identify and make recommendations to Grant Project Officer for comments to the grantee or submission to headquarters.    20%
  • Review headquarters data extraction reports and compare them to the Project Officer's submission. Work with the Project Officer and headquarters to resolve discrepancies with the submissions. Track entry of data in BMS by headquarters on a quarterly report basis.    30%
  • Draft letters for the Project Officer's approval and signature to the grantee regarding quarterly reports and property profile forms.    10%

Other:
  • OSWER holds monthly data meeting to update offices on upcoming events and deadlines for deliverables. Provide online data entry training for Brownfields Management System. May attend other Agency in-house training as applicable.
  • Overnight travel: Travel is optional and may be offered if necessary. Frequency of travel is determined by each regional office. Regional offices estimate travel not to exceed 3 trips and 15 workdays per year.
  • Air travel anticipated: Travel by air may occur if candidate participates in the optional travel/training.
