Qualifications:
BA/BS Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or Chemistry OR Minimum of 5 year(s) of experience in Engineering, Environmental Science, or Chemistry
- Strong oral and written communication skills required
- Experience required with Windows, Copying Machine, Multiple Phone Lines, MS Word, MS Excel, Dbase III/IV
Duties:
Clean Air Act monitoring and outreach to the energy sector, including oil and gas production, transmission, and biomass.
- Technical assistance to EPA and state personnel on energy related permitting and air emissions 30%
- Monitoring of energy projects including reviewing EPA, state, and facility files; assessing emissions, reviewing stack test reports; and determining the applicability of air regulations 30%
- Outreach on Clean Air Act requirements including permitting, New Source Performance Standards, and National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants. Prepare and deliver oral presentations. Answer questions via telephone 20%
- Assist in preparing Freedom of Information Act Responses 10%
- Other duties as assigned 10%
Other:- Training on air pollution and regulatory requirements via self-study courses from the Air Pollution Training Institute
- Overnight travel: one to five days per month
- Rental cars: once or twice a month
- Health Safety Training: 24 hour Health and Safety training
- Health and Safety Considerations: EPA will provide training or make available prior to field deployment
- Required Safety Gear: Steel-toed shoes and safety glasses or goggles
- Safety Gear Use: During site or field visits to facilities that require steel-toed shoes and/or eye protection
