Level 3 SEE Enrollee, Sandra “Sammy” McCaffrey, has been with the Lakewood, CO NETI-West Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance since February, 2008.
She serves as the Training Assistant for the National Enforcement Training Institute (NETI) which conducts Federal, State, Local and Tribal Agency trainings for over 3,000 “students” a year.
NETI-West is one of two EPA training centers in the country, the other being NETI-East in Washington, DC. The center is very busy and conducts anywhere from one to four trainings a day. Ms. McCaffrey is responsible for performing administrative duties associated with the trainings including: maintaining master attendance spreadsheets and mailing lists; notifying personnel of scheduled trainings; handling registration and sign-in at each session.
In addition to managing the reception desk and scheduling the trainings, Ms. McCaffrey copies and prepares training manuals for EPA staff and assures that the classrooms are orderly and configured to the needs of the instructor. This typically involves testing the audio visual equipment to assure it is functioning or supplying the room with refreshments.
Prior to working for the SEE Program, Ms. McCaffrey served as an Administrative Assistant to two Home Owners Association Managers. She wrote newsletters, scheduled appointments and showed rental properties. Prior to that, she worked at the University of Denver handling audio visual equipment. She feels that her previous work experience has greatly prepared her for this position and she is excited to be a part of the NETI Team!
