The Great American Outdoors Act (GAOA) was passed in 2020. This landmark conservation legislation will use revenues from energy development to provide up to $1.9 billion a year for five years to provide needed maintenance for critical facilities and infrastructure in our national parks, forests, wildlife refuges, recreation areas, and American Indian schools. It will also use royalties from offshore oil and natural gas to permanently fund the Land and Water Conservation Fund to the tune of $900 million a year to invest in conservation and recreation opportunities across the country.
You can contribute by supporting the Federal organizations that will be implementing the GAOA. We offer non-federal, grant-administered positions. Work could include various types of engineering, NEPA/ESA/NHPA/other compliance, safety officers, budget work, contracts/grants management, project management, and many other kinds of jobs. Submit your resume now to be considered for these positions.
You MUST be age 55 or older by federal law to be eligible. NOWCC currently partners with these four agencies receiving GAOA funding: the Bureau of Land Management, Fish and Wildlife Service, Forest Service, and National Park Service.
