The Agricultural Conservation Experienced Services (ACES) Program offers unique opportunities in Scientific, Technical, and Agricultural support for individuals age 55 and over to support the Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) through a grant administered program through National Older Worker Career Center (NOWCC). This is a unique program where your talents, expertise and experience will truly be valued. The NRCS provides an opportunity to work side-by-side with NRCS staff that are doing important work every day. Support the Easement staff with contract administration activities. NOTE: the job will be 24 hours a week until COVID restrictions are lifted and then goes to 40 hours a week.

  • Administration of existing contractual agreements for acquisition, restoration and management services. Assist the Easement staff in contracting transactions from initiation of contract for acquisition and restoration through the management of existing contracts for restoration or management outcomes. Coordinates and assists with various contracts requiring the development of new or modified evaluation criteria. 60%
  • Develop new contractual agreements for easement acquisition, restoration and management. Prepares agreement documents and transmittals, work with existing easement staff and managers, ensures the completion of task orders and other procured serves are correct and adequate. 20%
  • Prepare and provide administrative assistance for contract performance evaluations. Supports contract administration activities for easement acquisition, restoration and management. Provides reporting materials on performance and supports contractual administration needs. 20%


Minimum of 15 year(s) of experience in work typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position. OR BA/BS Degree in accounting, business, finance, law, economics and related degrees.

  • Valid State Driver’s license; operating personal computer software, as well as simple programming (including word processing, spreadsheets, email, file transfers, internet, time keeping, and databases), in order to research, tabulate, and analyze economic data, prepare correspondence, finalize documents, and foster work improvement.
  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access
  • HP Pro Laptop, Dell monitor(s), working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Teams, Adobe Acrobat, Jabber, Cisco, Access, Share Point.
