Complete detailed tasks related to the forest's Heritage Program related to priority timber sales on the White River National Forest. Provide expert advice & professional judgment about the forest's Heritage Program. Provide training, as requested.

  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and training to FS employees 10%
  • Conduct Heritage and Wildlife Program review and assigned tasks 90%


Minimum of 10 year(s) of experience in relevant, related field OR BA/BS Degree in relevant, related field

  • Possesses 10+ years of U.S. Forest Service Natural Resources experience with emphasis on the the Heritage Program.
  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel
  • Heritage Program Database


  • Enrollee will need to complete Computer Security and Awareness training. Enroll may be required to take any other FS mandated training such as Defensive Driving, Sexual Harassment, Ethics & Conduct, etc.
  • Required Safety Gear: Hard hat, safety glasses, and safety vest (as needed).
  • Safety Gear Use: Enrollee may need to use safety equipment when visiting projects situated on abandoned mine lands.
  • Sawyer training info: N/A
  • Physical requirements: Ability to: drive for long distances on Forest Service roads; hike in rugged terrain carrying a pack; and ATVs or UTVs use.
