The Agricultural Conservation Experienced Services (ACES) Program offers unique opportunities in Scientific, Technical, and Agricultural support for individuals age 55 and over to support the Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) through a grant administered program through National Older Worker Career Center (NOWCC). Duties will be performed mostly out of the NRCS State Office in Casper, Wyoming. This position is responsible for providing technical support to the Assistant State Conservationist, Management and Strategy and the Local Support Unit (LSU). This position will assist with various duties to support program management and analysis. This position is responsible for the generation and retrieval of financial reports and data which represent the financial and related transactions for Farm bill programs, grants and agreements and the business and office processes of the NRCS. Demonstrates and maintains knowledge, support, and awareness of the Equal Opportunity and Civil Rights policy.   • Assist with analysis of program and financial data as it relates to NRCS Program implementation. Assists with tracking NRCS program accomplishments, funding statuses, and funding obligations. Researches, compiles, and reviews necessary documentation in support of assigned audit samples. Assistance with financial reports and data relating to quarterly ULO process, ROOT reviews, financial certifications, and quarterly accruals. Prepares various program financial reports including FA and TA tracking, payment tracking, and other reports as required. 50%
  • Assist the LSU team with processing of grants, agreements, and contracts. Assists with establishing/maintaining all paper and electronic files for grants, cooperative agreements, contribution agreements, inter-agency agreements, and reimbursable agreements. Assist with the review and routing of SF-270 Request for Advance or Reimbursement. ? Assist with processing agreement close-out packages. 30%
  • Assist the LSU team with various office duties Assists with uploading and tracking of submissions to the various NRCS SharePoint sites and identifying processing time-line issues. Assists with the establishment/maintaining of all paper and electronic files for finance and budget. Performs related duties as assigned. 20%


Minimum of 10 year(s) of experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliation, or finance. OR AA Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Experience required with Windows, Copying Machine, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access
  • Microsoft Office Suite, scanner, printer


  • Computer and internet safety as mandated by law.
  • On-the-job training with Microsoft Suite applications and NRCS software and web-based systems.
