Denise M Williams
Ms. Denise Williams has recently assumed the new position of Community Involvement Coordinator for Region VI in Dallas where she provides technical assistance to several branches of the Superfund Division on webinar production. (Ms. Williams holds a B.A. in Radio/TV and Film.) She is the division’s photographer and writer/editor. She has also participated in the Brownfields grant cycle by serving as a reviewer, as well as “debriefing” unsuccessful grant applicants, providing information that may lead them to success on their next try for funding. In addition to her other duties, she will also be assisting Superfund RPMs with community meetings and other community-focused activities,
For two years prior to assuming her new position, Ms. Williams was assigned to assist the Regional Brownfields, Land Revitalization and Superfund Reuse Coordinators in promoting these programs. Her duties included outreach to stakeholders and local governments, through presentations, GIS data and web content management; writing and publishing success stories and coordination of special projects, meetings and events. Ms. Williams has made good use of her sixteen years of experience as an advertising exec and four years in management roles at the Round Rock, Texas Chamber of Commerce. Her first task was creating and producing the first Region 6 Superfund Division Annual Report. Fortunately, the creation this type of report was something she had done many times before, but it certainly condensed her learning curve of the Superfund program in a way that might otherwise have taken her much longer. From designing annual reports to producing webinars, Ms. Williams is certainly busy and productive as a SEE Enrollee.
