Qualifications:

BA/BS Degree in English/Biology/Chemistry OR Minimum of 10 year(s) of experience in technical work similar to the work of OSCP, especially work that requires use and knowledge of government regulations and forms for hiring and travel.

Duties:

Supports operations of peer review committees, preparing documents for meetings, assist in organizing the meetings, represent EPA in dealing with the public, and maintaining data records required by the Federal Advisory Committee Act.

  • Provide overall support for the staff of the Scientific Advisory Panel and the Panel members of regularly schedule meeting. Including: reviewing and monitoring travel authorization and travel reimbursement documents prepared by contractor; preparing background materials to the panel and the docket; process hiring packages for Special Government Employee; assist in the maintenance of database of members and consultants to the SAP and run reports; assist in the preparation and handling of quarterly and annual reports of SAP activities; order supplies for the office; organize cull and electronically archive meetings documents; contribute ideas for office organization and efficiency; and other duties as they occur. 25%
  • Support organization and conduct of meetings; This duty involves: assist in the preparation, coordination. distribution and of meeting materials; interacting with scientists for distribution of background documents; interacting with the contractor to ensure the hotel space is appropriately set up; and attending the meetings and monitoring the progress of the meeting. 25%
  • Provide professional technical assistance in proofreading/editing of meeting reports. This will include typing/editing materials drafted by scientific panel members during the course of the meeting. 25%
  • Provide general support such as responding to public inquiries, managing office equipment and supplies, requesting maintenance help (at request of Monitor), telephone and reception support as needed. 25%
