Qualifications:

BA/BS Degree in Toxicology, Agriculture, Chemistry, Biology, Business Administration, Public Policy, Communications or related field. OR Minimum of 5 year(s) of experience in Regulatory development, Customer Service, Communications Specialist Previously completed training in Customer Service, Communications, Regulations

  • Experience required with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Copying Machine, Multiple Phone Lines, Scanner

Duties:

Provide technical support and assistance to the Office of Small And Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) Deputy Director and EPA Ombudsman program in operating a toll free hotline for the convenience of small business and the general public, seeking free, confidential help as it relates to a variety of environmental regulatory topics, including but not limited to, asbestos related topics under the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act.

  • Receive and respond to hot-line calls 30%
  • Investigate caller complaints and prepare responses 30%
  • Interpret EPA regulations and their impact 20%
  • Participate in workgroup meetings 10%
  • Prepare reports and letters for signature 10%

Other:

  • Seasoned OSDBU staff are available to assist with minor deficiencies as are free electronic trainings
  • Overnight travel: Occasionally once/year for 3 nights max.
  • Air travel anticipated: once/year for 3 nights max
  • Rental cars: once/year for 3 nights max
